Hi again everyone! How are you? I hope this topic is easy for you. Today we are going to remember something you already know; the states of matter and its changes.

¡Hola de nuevo! ¿Cómo están? Espero que este tema les esté resultando fácil. Hoy vamos a recordar algo que ya sabemos; los estados de la materia y sus cambios.

We have two different types of changes in matter:

Physical changes: when matter changes in state when they are heated or cooled. For example water: solid, liquid and gas.

Chemical changes: when a substance change into one or more different substances. For example milk change in to yogurt.

Tenemos dos tipos de cambios diferentes de la materia:

Cambios físicos: cuando la materia cambia de estado cuando se calientan o enfrían. Por ejemplo el agua: solido, líquido y gaseoso.

Cambios químicos: cuando una sustancia cambia en una o más sustancias diferentes. Por ejemplo la leche que ha cambiado a un yougurt.

Hello every one! I hope you are fine. Today we are going to learn what DENSITY is. Density is the property that indicates how much mass is concentrated in an object. It is the relationship between the mass of an object and its volume. Matter is more concentrated in some substances than in others.

¡Hola a todxs! Espero que estén bien. Hoy vamos a aprender qué es la DENSIDAD. La densidad es la propiedad que indica cuánta masa hay concentrada en un objeto. Es la relación entre la masa de un objeto y su volumen. La materia está más concentrada en algunos objetos que en otros.

That is why we are going to do an experiment. Take a glass or a container of water and some different types of material you may have at home: piece of cotton, coin, pencil, cork, anything made of plastic, metal ball or something made of metal...

You only have to put them, one by one, in the water glass or container and see what happens. Will it sink or float in water? You can predict the results saying "The coin will sink /float in water."

Es por eso que vamos a hacer un experimento. Coge un vaso o un recipiente con agua y algunos tipos de materiales que puedas tener en casa: un trozo de algodón, una moneda, un lápiz, corcho, algo hecho de plástico, una pelota de metal o algo hecho de meta...

Sólo tienes que ponerlas, una por una, dentro del vaso o recipiente de agua y observar qué pasa. ¿Flotará o se hundirá en el agua? Puedes hacer predicciones diciendo: "The coin will sink /float in water."
